Air Quality Policy

Plano will lead by example in the Dallas-Fort Worth area by developing policies that assist the region in reaching attainment for air quality.

Implement the regional vehicle idling policies local government vehicle fleets established
by the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG).

Evaluate and implement new technology such as idling detection for city vehicles to assist
with reducing air pollutants.

Improve timing and coordination of traffic signals with Plano, the state of Texas, the North
Texas Tollway Authority
(NTTA), and neighboring cities to reduce emissions from idling
vehicles and improve traffic flow.
